Why sign-ups?

On an e-commerce site with a product range as wide as Sanal Çadır's, a sign-up is the step that turns a one-off purchase into a long-term relationship. Once a visitor becomes a member, you can tell them about campaigns, remind them of their basket and give them a better experience the next time they shop. That is why even a small improvement in sign-up rate feeds directly into sales and customer loyalty over time.

First, we found where users gave up

We started from data, not guesswork. We measured every step of the sign-up flow separately: how many people open the form, how many get stuck on which field, how many reach the final step and drop out. Using heatmaps and session recordings we watched the behavior behind those numbers: where users clicked, where they hesitated and which warning made them leave the page.

This analysis gave us a set of hypotheses. We turned each one into the question “if we change this, will sign-ups go up?” and ranked them, starting with the ones that promised the biggest impact for the least effort.

Then we tested every change

Instead of applying the hypotheses straight to the site, we tried them in A/B tests. Some users saw the existing experience, others saw the new one; we waited until enough data had built up and only made a change permanent once a statistically significant difference appeared. Changes that didn't work were rolled back. This discipline removes both the risk of locking in a bad change and the risk of trusting a result that came down to luck.

Making the result stick

Winning a test is not the end of the job. After making the winning changes permanent we kept tracking the sign-up rate, comparing like-for-like periods so that seasonality, campaign periods and shifts in traffic sources wouldn't distort the result. We also applied what we learned from the tests to the site's other forms and checkout steps.

Results and what we learned

By the end of the tests the new sign-up rate had risen by 21%. The gain came without any extra ad spend, purely from improving the site itself. In other words, the same traffic produced more members.

The main thing this project reminded us: bringing more people to the site with ads is not always the first answer. Sometimes the fastest growth comes from not losing the users who are already there. If you'd like to look at your site's conversion rate together, get in touch.

Frequently asked questions

What is conversion rate optimization (CRO)?
CRO is the work of improving the site experience with data so that a larger share of visitors sign up, add products to the basket or buy. Changes are tried in A/B tests and only those with a proven result are made permanent.
How was the 21% increase in sign-up rate achieved?
Every step of Sanal Çadır's sign-up flow was measured, the points where users dropped out were examined with heatmaps and session recordings, and the resulting hypotheses were tried in A/B tests. The increase came from the same traffic, with no extra ad spend, and won Gold at ETZ'25.
When do the results of CRO work show?
To see the effect of a tested change reliably, enough traffic has to build up. On high-traffic sites the first results can come within a few weeks.
